Dzhambulat Khatuov, first Deputy Minister of Agriculture of RF, Friedrich Wacker, head of the Directorate for International Cooperation and Global Food of the Ministry of Agriculture of Germany, and Fedor Dereka, Minister of Agriculture of Krasnodar region, took part in the event.
Dzhambulat Khatuov emphasized that the countries have established cooperation in the investment business and agricultural engineering. He also underscored a leading role of farmers in the agricultural production. The credit for this, among other things, goes to the Farmers’ Association of Russia.
According to Friedrich Wacker, Russia has a strong sector in AIC and Krasnodar region stands as one of its flagships, also in terms of the extent of development of the farming industry. He added that Russian and German farmers have currently established strong working relationships.
– Irrespective of a complex geopolitical situation, we are successfully operating, we have friendly relationships. Over the last ten years we have promoted a dialogue and willing to transit to practical solutions of our developments, - underscored Friedrich Wacker.
While greeting the participants on behalf of Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, Fedor Dereka noted that Krasnodar region has been intensively interfacing with Germany in the area of agricultural engineering. A company on manufacture of agricultural machinery «CLAAS» has been successfully operating in the region.
– We are open to continued cooperation and interested in studying the best practices of Germany on development of farming industry. For instance, now it is critical for us to establish agricultural cooperation, implement new advanced technologies in the area of processing in small business in rural areas, - noted Chief of regional department.
Fedor Dereka added that special attention is drawn to support of farming industry in the region. Over one billion rubles is allocated annually from the federal and regional budgets for subsidies and grants of peasant farm enterprise and agricultural cooperatives. The funds are channeled for development of start-up farmers, family livestock enterprises, development of gardening in peasant farm enterprise and fortification of material & technical facilities of cooperatives.
The Russian-German conference will be held for two days. It is expected to carry out a number of thematic panels on development of farming sectors in two countries within the scope of the conference. It is also planned to recap on the outcomes of joint work and formulate further plans of intercommunication. Moreover, the participants of the event will visit the top farming enterprises and wineries of Kuban.
